Tip #3 — Organize Your Thoughts

What is it that you are looking to organize…is it your work stuff, maybe a closet or an entire house?  Maybe what you are looking to organize and put in order is on a much grander scale.  Here’s the most valuable bit of info I can give you…drop the weight.  Hand over the mess to the one who can put the mess in order.  Beauty from chaos…He specializes in that.

But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. — Matthew 6:33 NIV

  1. Carole – glad to make your blog acquaintance! I really like your design here. At least that’s one place that’s clean and organized! You should see my desk. My things pile up until I have no more room and I’m crowded out. God bless and happy blogging!

    Hi, Carole,

Thanks for your note/question. First of all, I applaud you for thinking in terms of a percentage, versus a flat rate. It shows a sense of ownership in driving results, not just offering effort. Not all contractors think this way, I can tell you. The actual percentage depends on several factors, including: 1) Would you be doing all the new biz work, or is the agency offering any support; 2) Will you help service the business once it is won, or will you move on to more new biz work? Also, you might consider a graduating scale (i.e., a higher percentage for the first $X,000, then a decreasing amount of the next $X,000, and so on). This will help ensure it is worthwhile to you. All this said, a range of 10-15% is a good starting point. Hope this helps. Todd
